History
After the initial affiliate of Habitat for Humanity in Rutland closed in 2002, Rutland became the only county in the state not served by a Habitat for Humanity Affiliate. The need for affordable, low-income housing in Rutland County is acute.
A group of motivated members of the Rutland Community decided that they wanted to address the housing epidemic and began the process of forming a new Habitat for Humanity Affiliate. The application was fully completed in April 2014 and the local approval was effective July 1, 2014.
Want to help? We are looking for more volunteers who are interested in participating on one of our committees. Committees are: Resource Development, Site Selection, Family Selection and Support, Faith Relations, Community Relations, and Construction. Contact our office or any Director for more information. There is no limit to the ways that individuals from all backgrounds can make a difference in furthering our ability to help more people in our community to enjoy the benefits of having q safe, sufficient, and an affordable place to call their home.
